Meetings / Education

CAL/ACEP offers a wide variety of educational opportunities.  CAL/ACEP co-sponsors and oversees more than 30 CME courses a year.  In addition, CAL/ACEP-sponsored activities include the annual Scientific Assembly, the Emergency Medicine in Yosemite Winter Conference, and the Emergency Medicine Legislative Leadership Conference.   The Legislative Leadership Conference is free to CAL/ACEP members and is includes participation by CalENA and CalAAEM members.

Furthermore, there are educational pieces in the chapter's monthly newsletter, entitled Lifeline, and including the "Clinical Corner," a monthly article devoted to timely educational issues.

CAL/ACEP also offers a two-day ultrasound course designed exclusively for emergency physicians.  The Ultrasound course in normally offered during the two days preceding the annual Scientific Assembly.  We have helped sponsor research, including UCI's Workforce study, poster sessions  at the annual Scientific Assembly, residency director meetings, and even published practice guidelines.

We encourage you to attend one of our high quality CAL/ACEP and co-sponsored courses, or participate in the planning and review of courses by becoming a member of the Education Committee.  If you would like to find out more about the Education Committee and its activities, or are a CAL/ACEP physician and would like to become involved, please contact CAL/ACEP.
